Since I began my job at the college in 2006, my website redesign was put on the back burner. The process was slow in trying to find the time to update my site. It was really out of date. I just couldn’t seem to have enough time to design something from the ground up. And like a lot of designers, my own site often takes a back seat.
I struggled with what CMS platform to use. I have a lot of experience with the old pMachine and Expression Engine software, but lately have been dabbling in WordPress. So, I decided using a existing theme would finally get my site updated much quicker, would be data driven and I would have the opportunity to learn how to customize a WordPress theme.
I have spent a great deal of time looking for just the right theme for PD Designs. It was such a hard decision for me because I love designing. Themes come all put together. I had to let go of my guilt in order to concentrate on the right theme. And I have had to tell myself that this is indeed a learning experience that would benefit me in the long run.
So onward I go!
